Training
: Mobile, short yet quality
vocational training is the key feature of SIS.
BVI people from poor and disadvantaged communities
without a formal education base can neither
afford nor can compete for city centered rehabilitation
centre. SIS meets them as their doorstep, assess
their needs and demand of the local market and
on their sighted family member's initiation
impart vocational skills. All training are conducted
virtually "hands on".
SIS
Partners :
SIS partners are BVI people
sighted family members. Without their support
and commitment, our rehabilitation programme
could not be success no matter how much we put
effort. Therefore, SIS is very cautious in selecting
its partners before initiating its programme.
Follow-up
:
SIS believes in learning by doing practices.
It is therefore, SIS take care of its clients
even after termination of the project for technical
backstopping. Technology changes with time,
SIS keep in touch with its clients even after
trainings are over.
Sustainability
: In order to give continuation
of the initiation, SIS has been forming BVI
people's own organization at the local level.
Forming BVI people's own organization has been
integral part of SIS rehabilitation programme.
This organization could be considered as common
platform among BVI people to express their views
and experiences and as well as to advocate for
their rights. |
